Hey All,

I'm going to do two polls about favorite factions -- this one on play and another about flavor.  Decide for yourself what "play" means -- it could be "this lets me win tournaments" if you're Andrew or "I like having more guys than my opponent" or whatever.

Best,
Chad

P.S.  I know most of you have no idea about Rome and Carthage yet, but I'm going to leave the poll up, so you can change your minds after you play them...

High Elves Movement Mastery is just too much fun.

Orcs are a strong second followed even closer by Lizzardmen

Also Chad you suck for not only including Rome/Carthage in your 2 poles months before their release but voting for them too.

Hawks for the sheer joy of the Knight's charge (or making your enemies fight in the shade of the Longbow)!

This is so weird... I was actually searching the forums earlier today for a poll in people's favorite armies... too bad I haven't played enough to pick one. Tongue

Men of Hawkshold for sure. You just root for those militia & peasant mobs to hold there own & get a few hits on the enemy.  Also, the feeling you get when you finally get the 2.5" movers(Great Swordsment or Heavy Infantry) to engage is just priceless.  The Ravenwood Elves are a close 2nd for me because of the sheer variety........and yes I have yet to put Centaurs in my 1500 or 2000 point armies.  Lately I've seen how they work, so I might have to start using them.  Roll Eyes

I chose Carthage here, although I'm clearly biased by their newness.  Libyan Foot are great fun, Elephants are an interesting heavy cavalry unit and skirmishers are really challenging to get maximum value from but can do wonders.  Balearic Slingers plus Determination (army ability) is really powerful as well.

Other favorites are Hawks, Ravenwood and Umenzi.

I voted Runegard, of course.  It's all about the balls, baby!

Umenzi and Ravenwood Elves are close 2nd and 3rd.

I vote for the High Elves.  Maneuver Mastery is all about... err... mastering the game, and their always outnumbered aspect paired with great stats make them a challenging faction to play well, hence the fun.

Lizardmen are my current favorite.  What's not to love about Blood Frenzy?  Dwarves and High Elves round out the top three for me.

I'm not going to say that people who don't say High Elves are wrong, but only because I am being polite.

I will go for Runegard also. Hard warriors advancing and grinding down the opposition. Throw some Antonian in and you really asre the commander sitting behind and enjoy the spectacle Smiley.

Okay, I'm just going to say it.

High Elves are the "girlfriend" army. THERE I SAID IT!!

BRING IT ON!!! Tongue

If you have a spouse or a girlfriend, who you want to get interested in playing the game, you have them play High Elves.  Nah nah.

(I'm kidding, but I'm ready for the flames!)

This is what I love to see in a relationship, that combination of respect for your partner's skills and selfless devotion to having fun things to do together that causes you to let her play the faction that is hardest to play, best, and most fun.

Your selflessness is an inspiration to us all, sir.
