From the RUSH faction

I would like to offer a variant based primarily on my own issues with the current madness for campaign systems that involve building infrastructures during a campaign. Let me just say that Kingdoms certainly redresses most of my grievances with its innovative system. I would like to take it one step further and limit strategic building even more, yet still allow tactical builds that could reasonably be constructed in a season of battle.

Let us assume that the campaign covers one season of an epic struggle. Let us further assume that the factions have purchased all builds except those that may be built every turn (Training Grounds, Watchtower, Outpost, Palace Expansion). Multiple instances of these alowable builds may be built each turn.

Comments: While you could play ten turn campaigns like this, I am thinking it would be more for three or five turn campaigns. The Palace Expansion may not literally be a Palace Expansion, but it serves the same role as it does in the standard campaign game, it siphons of excess gold and "invests" it for a future goal.

If you really wanted to go crazy you could telescope time so that the tactical builds could be completed during a campaign season and then the strategic builds could be built "between seasons" to simulate frequent breaks in hostilities that allow grander scale builds and then return to the tactical scale when somebody decides enough is enough.
