Hey All,

Just an informal heads-up that Battle for Hill 218 is very nearly out of print. We shipped more to distributors last month than I currently have in-stock, so even allowing for copies on store shelves and in distributor warehouses I have to assume that it will be officially out of print within a couple of months at most.

Thanks for selling out our print run so fast!

Best,
Chad

WOW that's awesome news.  That means you have more money to print new BF factions [insert evil grin]

Seriously though congratulations that is really cool it sold that fast.  I love the simplicity and speed of the game.

Congratulations!

I've got two decks (well, I've got one deck and my girlfriend is the proud owner of the second deck).

We really enjoy playing Battle for Hill 218.

Cheers!

Congrats!  Glad I have my copy.

I just got my wife to play this with me last week for her first time.  She caught on quickly.  She likes abstract strategy games like Yinsh and Dvonn, so she enjoyed this as well.

Any plans for reprint?

We're definitely not just going to let it fade away.  Smiley

A straight reprint would be fairly simple, and the pattern of monthly sales makes me think it would be pretty low-risk.  That said, my inclination is to expand and retheme it.

I suggest you include a perfect information variant if you reprint. (start with every card in your hand)[you should like this chad it's even more like chess no card drawing luck Smiley]

See here http://yourmovegames.com/forum/index.php/topic,757.0.html for more in depth rules of how I made this work.

Interesting.  Have you played that variant at all?  I could see it being fascinating or awful, but I'll have to try it out to see.

So, do you think there would be a market for both? The original, plus the expanded and (significantly) re-themed version? If the theme was different enough, I suspect so.

I think there would.  It's cheap enough that I think a lot of people would pick up both versions and there are definitely some people who have said they want to give it to friends who would like it if it weren't for the WWII theme.

The only criticism of the original I had was that both colours used the same images.  There was definitely a missed opportunity to include alternative Axis images, in my humble opinion.  Otherwise, an awesome game and best wishes for future success.

We had a VERY hard time finding the same type of public domain art for the Axis armies.  If/when we do a third print run for Hill 218 I'm pretty sure we'll take that extra step.
