I just had this idea for a faction ability. Whenever the player discards, the card maybe discarded normally or reshuffled into the draw pile. This could be for a grindy faction that gets a stronger deck as the game progresses. More of an ability for experienced players who know which cards are most effective vs. which faction, and could plan the deck accordingly. A faction specific card could allow the player to draw and discard five or ten cards, thus allowing a quicker customization. Also beneficial for players who would see that as the opponent plays certain cards he could retain the "foil" cards so that the opponent would run out of counter measures.

That's a really interesting idea. I imagine the flavor would be a general who quickly adapts to the tactics of the enemy and is thus able to inspire his troops more effectively as the battle progresses. I could see two versions of the "draw and discard" ability:
Spend a command action to draw X cards and then discard X cards. (Not sure how big X would be.) This would let a player trade in bad cards already drawn for fresh cards.
Look at the top X cards in your deck. You may discard any you choose. Shuffle the rest into your deck.
Another possibility is to replace "discard" with "remove from game" so they don't come back at all, even if you end up shuffling your deck.

All those could work as faction specific cards. The player would want to be drawing fast and furious so it rewards clever play. Imagine playing this faction and then realizing your set up is off and having to blow a bunch of CAs getting your line reorganized. That would be a winning strategy by the opponent.
