I do think The Kendall is where I'll be. I checked it out, and walked the google map from the there to the store, it should be a nice walk. Plus the subway will be great if the weather is inclement.

I'm still in for coming to this tournament.  Your place still up for crashing, Niko?

Sweet!

The current count is 11 solid, 2 maybe (Moose & LazyJ), plus the unknown factor (local folks who aren't online and others who decide to come--it's still a month away!)

Yeah, Chad is planning to come. (He's on the list of attending players I posted a few days ago).

I talked to Marcus, and I would say I'm 27.35%.  Alot has to do with the weather, as my car is basically undriveable in any kind of snow.  (I walk to work when it snows....seriously)  I'd provide if nothing else someone for everyone to beat down on.  My double dragon build is going to work eventually!!

It looks like at least a couple of store regulars are pretty psyched about this and likely to attend.  Jon and Chingsung have been doing pretty regular testing at the store.

Kevin - Do we have a list of what the final rules are going to be for this event?  I'm getting a lot of questions about it in store.

Here's an excerpt from the top post on this thread:

Quote
Special  rules:

Special unit, faction, and scenario rules have been put on a google document.

This is in addition to the google document which tracks all Official Rule Changes, all of which will be used.

Is that sufficient?

Kevin,

At the tourney in February, will we be able to control units on permanent close by using 3 command actions?  Or did that fail to pass?  I'm having trouble finding the link to that discussion.

Yes.  That's in the "Special Unit, Faction, and Scenario Rules" document linked above.

Officially speaking, a whole bunch of us (myself included) voted to playtest that rule.  Most folks considered it a good idea, but there were a few variants floating around (I consider it an unanswered question whether Colossal units should cost more.).  But very few playtest games have happened, so it hasn't gone to another vote.  Hopefully we'll get some good data out of the tournament.

The Jersey boys play-tested that rule only twice so far.  Both times it didn't seem too powerful, it just seemed right.  I don't think allowing that rule in the tourney will backfire on you.  Also, I'm skeptical about how many people will be playing the Lizardmen or the Monsters and Mercs.  So if it ends up being a tad bit unbalanced it wont affect many games.

Of course, anyone who is willing to prove a point is free to take Lizzies and sweep the tourney with this rule. Wink
