Yeah, really the only draw to fixed armies, IMO, is that they potentially save a little time, but they have big RPS risks and cut out a lot of the fun and skill of the game.

The other issue is that they don't save as much time as I expected - army building was generally quite quick this year at the championship.

(I might be misremembering, but I think for the Council one I still didn't let people change armies after they saw who their opponent would be, which kept the speed benefit since basically I just let people rebuild between rounds, but I still agree with Kevin that I'd rather have the build phase as standard - it just adds so much.)
