I have posted a blog on using WotC's (Avalon Hill's) Diplomacy game to run a map based campaign using Kingdoms to generate battles. I've included the URL to down load the map and rules for free.

Seriously, man, I can't keep up with you!  My children are neglected because I spend so much time reading your blog.  For the good of my children, man, slow down!

Do you sub to Diplomacy World?
I was always fond of the Dipy variant maps.
Back in the late 70's we had 3 regular groups of players in Western WA.

On a variant note, in the mid 70's I had a lot of fun playing a dipy variant, R. Loomis' "Nuclear War".

I did the whole hog diplomacy thing for several years, but its been about ten since I last gave it a go. I am toying with starting it again, but I got a lot on my plate right now. I'm putting together the pieces for a speaking career and that has to take all my free "good" time. The rest of the day I spend "in the yellow" and I do things like post on this forum and kick around BG ideas in general. In spite of all the hype, a severe brain injury can be a real hassle some times, even twenty years after. Tongue Smiley
