Only 2 weeks to go  Grin
I will be getting up there Thursday night if anyone else is going to be around and wants to hang out or play a little Battleground.
My 1500 point army is pretty much set, still trying to narrow down which faction to play in the 2000 point tourney.  Thank goodness for the army creator spreadsheet.  I have used it to make up over 50 different army builds from numerous factions, just to give me a feel for the process.  (Having only played like 5 games I need all the help I can get.)

I'll be arriving sometime on Friday and will be around for pretty much the whole con from then on.  I'm pretty psyched.  It looks like Dark Elves will indeed be here on time, barring disaster...

 Shocked
Sometimes that is very amusing, a show in itself.

We'll be getting there a little after noon on Friday, then it's nose to the grindstone in the Star Fleet Battles room.  Once I get booted from that tournament, it's hardcore BG the rest of the way.

I won't be there until Saturday (I teach until 6PM Friday), and have a RPG scheduled for Sat. afternoon.  But Marcus, look for me Saturday morning.  For the goal of a strong Battleground tournament, I'll be happy to knock your ass out of SFB.  Wink

Don't look at me funny.  I'm just offering to knock it into Battleground for others to do unspeakable things to it.

Kevin, are you not worried about qualifying for the SFB finals?
You've gotta play at least two games, and 1-1 probably doesn't get you in with a field of mid-20s.

Hello Niko,

I see that v3 of the rulebook is available for download from the YMG website:
http://www.yourmovegames.com/rules_faq.html

But, it is footnoted as "unofficial".

Will the Council tournament be run under these rules (that would get my vote), or under the rules from the Historical set, which I believe are the most recent "official" rules?

- - -

Also, I see no mention of any of the v3 rules being "Optional Rules".  (Nice and clean that way!)

If we are _not_ using the v3 rules for the Council tournament, which of the Optional rules will be in play?

Thanks,

Dave, I'm prioritizing Battleground this year.  Since they both have tournaments Sunday, I won't be able to do the SFB finals.  But I'll play 1 or 2 SFB games in the patrol rounds in order to get the tournament numbers up, as well as for the love of the game.

I've been browsing a few threads here that caught my eye.  I reget I don't get to this forum as often as I'd like to.

Another question that definitely affects the upcoming tournaments at Council ("T" minus eight days!)...

What's the final ruling on tweaking the Undead faction?
What do I have to worry about if I'm gonna face Dixon's undead?

There are no longer optional rules in v3, indeed.  Those rules are marked "unofficial" until the Dark Elves come out, which should be, as you know, just before Council, so by the time of the events they'll be the "official" rules.  Even in the case of an unexpected Dark Elf delay, I've (understandably) been working in v3 land for months so I'd be horribly confused judging anything else, so we'll be using them.
