The bonuses that only pertain to a certain kind of terrain are really hard to factor into the cost. Like the Ravenwood Elves with no penalty for moving through the woods. Sometimes that means nothing, sometimes it's so powerful it's almost game breaking, and other times it's a minor little thing.

I guess if you include for flavor but not for balance...

It's an interesting concept though. Definitely a faction genre that hasn't been explored!

I'll admit it that its not my own ideas and creativity. I decided to make one after reading about the merfolk in one of the threads.  Embarrassed

Anyway, what about this faction ability?

Persistent: A unit with persistent never routs, but when it fails a rout check, it loses 1 health instead of routing.

I like it. I would suggest that it lost a number of health equal to the amount it failed the rout test by, as that would more accurately reflect the fact that they're staying even though casualties are mounting, and in some cases would fight to the last man.

Rolling an 18 would be REALLY devastating then...

Or what about one damage for each enemy engaged with it?
