Going to try this out tonight against my buddy who wants to delve into the Hawkshold army...

4 Crazed Goblins
4 Goblin Bowmen
2 Goblin Wolfriders
1 Goblin Bomb Chucker
1 Goblin Trolls

Basic Idea:
Very fast frontline with the wolves on each flank (will probably give the wolves a max move and sound the charge once within 5").  While the fast line advances, the 5 ranged units will try to soften and maybe get an early rout or two.  I'll post after tonights game and let you know how it went...

This looks like a fun army, but it does seem to have some "issues".

I'm generally skeptical of armies that combine a significant investment in range power with a very fast front line.  We charge you for speed, so a fast unit will be weaker (point-for-point) than a slow one.  Moreover, the army with greater ranged power inevitably has fewer points to spend on its line.

The end result is that your front line is probably going to be weaker than your opponent's...and will likely be MUCH weaker.  With that in mind, you probably want to delay engagement for as long as possible, giving your range units enough time to soften your opponent's front line (hopefully breaking a hole or two in it).  Instead, you're going to rush in there...engaging long before your ranged units will have done much damage and probably forcing the ranged units to fire at a range penalty while the melee goes on.

Let us know how the battle goes!

well, i am playing a noob tonight (he'd kill me if he heard me say that)   Grin  So it should be enough to look at how it does and adjust next time  Smiley

I am a bit worried about the strength of the frontline, but am figuring that they might be able to tie up whoever they are against while the ranged units are shooting into melee as well.  The one plus that I see about my line is that they are near unbreakable with the amount of crazed goblins.  But, as you said, one of the huge bonuses of this game is army building and trying different builds out and between both decks, you have given us so much it's easy to go back to the drawing board when it doesn't work  Smiley

I am having something similar in the works but with 2 units of trolls and no bowmen!

That's the fun after all Smiley
