The thread up top said post something or be deleted so here's my 3:14 am post.

Never played BGFW and I've had the the Punic Wars starter and reinforcements laying around for a couple months. Got around to looking at them and I think I need to play, that stuff looks good. Since I have a problem with buying too many games I just placed an order for the Dark Elves, High Elves starter, Lizardmen & reinforcements, the terrain pack, and Kingdoms. Reading BGG and lurking this forum kind of pointed me towards what to buy. Since finding players seemed like it was going to be hard I bought the High Elves for my regular wargaming buddy. It will be like street drugs, the first one's free then dude will be hooked (hopefully) and I'll have someone to play a cool tactical game with.

As far as the backgound I've been gaming a long time. Many years of painting & playing minis games, gave it up, got tired of the time it was taking up. Now that there's no minis I have time to play a lot of other games. Pretty much just a historical wargamer now. The ones with the little chits and hex boards. That and some cool BGFW.

I need sleep.

Welcome! I really miss the old AH hexes and counters too. I too have played minis for years. Now that there is Battleground that is all I play, since I don't have that much time to devote to gaming so I don't want to waste any painting Tongue.

Ditto...  I am an old Avalon Hill gamer myself.  I was always intrigued by Warhammer Fantasy...  Started to play and just hated the time spent glueing and painting and filing and basing and.....   then I found this game.  So my WHF models went on ebay and I now have a complete BFW collection, just need my beastman faction to make me complete Smiley....  My son and I are having a blast and there was no need to take out a second on the house to do it.  He has his lizardmen and thus far my dwarves cannot beat him Sad..

Thanks for the welcomes. The old AH days were pretty cool. Those were good times to be a wargamer.
