I was introduced to BG at C5N by a bunch of crazy NJ dudes (Marcus Brook, Steve, Ron, Tim, the UK guy-sorry bad with names). I decided to buy the entire game right there because that's how I roll and if SFB people are playing it it must have very in-depth tactics (hopefully without the 1000 page rulebook). Niko talked my ear off for thirty minutes and the only way I was going to escape was to give him money or shout "Look coeds in chainmail bikinis!" and run away. Money was the better choice.

Niko was out of terrain packs and had to send it after he got back home. I received it the other day with a personal note and some other BG swag. Nice, and much appreciated. The passion for the game Niko Kevin, John and some others that took the time to hip me to the game was very evident and infectious.
Cool game, cool people. Just need to build the base here in Reno. Playing my wife is fun but now it's like goldfishing (playing yourself) as the LOTR strategy she deploys is only effective in the movies.
Me: "I would put those trolls up front and flank them with.."
Her: " Did you see trolls up front in LOTR?
Me: "No but..."
Her: "Alright then the cute little guys with the nose rings go in first then the trolls come in and clobber you. Sheez, you born yesterday Sun Tsu?"
Me: Yes dear.."
Now I give her builds and run into them. I want to get a firm enough grasp on the rules where I can go to the one Hobby Store in Reno and recruit. Shouldn't be hard to poach a few players as it is a big Warhammer shop.
Anyway Thanks Niko for the game an Legendary customer service! Thanks to the BG players at C5N for answering all my noob questions and turning me on to a very challenging, entertaining and well designed game.
C5N is 300+ days away boyz, I predict West coast domination of BG in 2012...
