Nicely done! One of the biggest problems with the felt map is it warps over time. Looks like your map will keep its shape.
I really like the way felt keeps it shape once it has been glued to foam-core, but that makes it harder to transport.
Yes, it was such a pain in the ass I gave it to Kevin rather than schlepp it back to Minnesota, and that was one that folded up in cuarto.

I want to give a nod to hloko for making a great playing surface! (Nod) It is nice to know there are others who value high quality components. Actually, plenty of people value them, but few actually make them.
My latest ideas run in two directions. First, I want to make a board on 1/8" foam core and see if it is just as good and even more portable than 1/4". I'm thinking it will bow.

Second, I'm going to look into making a masonite board (got the idea while handling a masonite clip board today). It would be heavier (sturdier and stabler) than foam core, yet at 1/8" thickness, quite compact. Does anyone have any other board material Ideas?
