Oh yeah, don't forget translators.  The editors of history.  If you don't think those guys have a bias, I'll point you to the Bible: Thou Shalt Not Kill as we know it today is actually Thou Shalt Not Murder.  Ancient Hebrew had a different word for Murder and Kill.  Murder is when you end the life of another person of your nation (i.e. another Israelite).  Killing is ending the life of an animal or non-Israelite.  That's a fairly important distinction...
