Since I have free admission, I'll probably be going for at least the weekend.  Not only is there a lot of fun board games, I might get another chance to play Shadowrun Cheesy.

Is anyone else going?  We could get a few games of Battleground in.  Depending on how much playtime I get in before then, I might also be willing to host a session, although right now I'm still learning the rules and there's no guarantee of attendance.

Holy steaming pooballs, that's half an hour away from me!  Brook, Moose, and I actually attended Dexcon 3 and 4 back in the early 90s.  I'll see if I can make that.

Heh, I ran a couple of SFB tourneys there.  Might be able to make it, maybe just for one day.

If there are good, attractive Battleground events being run, there is a good chance I could make this.  Perhaps along with some other SWA folks.

About time there was something near us for a change.  This might be a good thing.  Let's get some Battlegrounds going on.

OK, I'm pretty sure that I want to get something together for this and run some kind of event.  Even if it's a win the deck event or whatever.  What do I need to do to get the ball rolling aside from contacting the organizers of the Con and telling them I'd like to run an event?  I've got 8 weeks.

How are we going to handle the logistics?  Marcus, you're putting in the game proposal, right?  In the comments, you might want to see if we can get it cross-listed in the miniatures section, in addition to board/card games.

Are we going to do a win-the-deck event?  Where will we get those decks?  If we don't have extra decks, are we going to let the players use our cards?  Are we going to sell decks at Dexcon (probably would be complicated)?

I've been in contact with Hamilcar, who was going to set up a booth and run demos.  He already has had contact with the Dexcon folks.  My issue is that I'm only available for that Saturday.  So if I'm manning the booth and running demos, I think a win the deck tourney is the way to go.  We're working on getting booth coverage for Friday and Sunday.  I'd really like to avoid having to use my own decks for this, but we'll work that out.  Hamilcar has run quite a few of these events and he can help with the details.

Hamilcar, I thought you were going to Historicon that weekend?

I might be able to help with demos at times if need be, but there are several events I want to attend (Shadowrun as much as possible, Dune on Sunday) and I might be running a Yomi event or two.

We're going to attempt to hold down the fort for Hamilcar.  It's a team effort!
