Conventions:

I am just doing up my 2011 travel schedule for the entire year. If there one complete list of all the conventions that YMG and BG is being represented at or as complete as possible.

If yes I can try and setup my travel schedule to hit 2-3 conventions in the USA over 2011.

Thanks

I don't know of a complete list, but if you go to 1 con it should be Council of 5 Nations in Schenectady (near Albany) NY in October.  We got 11 players in each of two tournaments a couple of weeks ago, which is considerably more than any other con has ever had.  http://www.swa-gaming.org/council

Total Confusion in Mansfield MA (about 20 miles south of Boston) in late February is a good bet as well; we're hoping for decent turnout for Battleground.  www.totalcon.com

Any other conventions YMG known to be going to or played at? Chad or Niko or anyone else any comments?

I've done something the last two years at Kublacon in the CA Bay Area, and plan to do something again this year.  It's held over Memorial Weekend.

One part of admitting that publishing games loses rather than makes money (and thus getting a full-time job) is that I can no longer do the convention circuit.  Niko volunteers to do some and we have events at several (e.g. Hannibal at Kubla) but the days of having a proper convention schedule with me running a booth and doing demos all weekend are behind us.  Sad

We'll certainly have some presence at TotalCon (at least events) and I'll be at BGG.CON as a tourist.  If anyone here is ever interested in running an event or (gasp) selling product at a local convention, by all means speak up.  Smiley

Thanks for the formal answer, I understand. Let me get my feet wet learning the game and I may just be up for representing the game at our conventions (2 diff ones per year) and sell the game. But I would want to be a experienced player first so I can truely be knowledgable about the product when I am talking about it.

Almost done reading the rule book, then I will play my first game. So far the rules are very straight forward overall. The only thing I have scratched my head over is movement and the whole standing orders idea, it seems overly complicated from my inexperienced (about BG) point of view. Can't wait to try it out in a real game and see how it works.

Well, you've picked a good crowd to learn from, that's for sure!

I am counting on it. Once I have read all the rules and played once or twice, trust me I will have questions. Smiley

Jaime ("Mexico") will be doing Battleground demos at PAX East.  I'll be helping him some on Sunday.

I'll also be at PAX East, though my Battleground work has to come second to my work for my store, which will be vending there.  The Battleground stuff will be nearby though, so come by the Pandemonium booth and say hi, or I'll be wandering by Battleground when I'm free.

I'll be at PAX East doing demos for Cool Mini or Not.  I'll bring my Battle ground stuff as well.  Maybe I can sneak a game in!

Alright, I hope to see you guys there this weekend.  I'll probably be hanging in the tabletop games room all day, and I want to finally try this game out Smiley.

My store shifts are 6pm-2am Fri/Sat and 2pm-6pm Sun.  I'll try to get there by 2pm or 3pm on Friday so I can grab a few games first, and be sure to come by and say hi at my booth Smiley

We'll also have all Battleground ever, obv.
